THIS EMERALD SEASON
It’s the time of year when the rain descends, transforming the once dry plains into an oasis of green vegetation. Waters rise, the wildlife appears more distinct and many camps and lodges are offering low rates. The Bushcamp Company, Flatdogs Camp, Kafunta River Lodge and Thornicroft Lodge in South Luangwa all re-open in March. Royal Zambezi Lodge continue to stay open and Baines River camp re-opens 1st of March covering the properties in Lower Zambezi. KaingU Safari Lodge in the Kafue also reopens in March to welcome the high waters.
 
NEW & IMPROVED LION CAMP
Lion Camp, situated in South Luangwa NP and known to be one of the oldest camps in the park is undergoing a major refurbishment. It’s back open for business this May and will have a strong focus on sustainability and conservation. For more information, visit their website.
 
 
PROFLIGHT ANNOUNCES TWO NEW DOMESTIC ROUTES
Zambia’s leading airline will offer Livingstone to Lower Zambezi direct daily in the peak months from mid-June through to mid-October. They will also commence scheduled services to Kafue National Park from Lusaka in March, making the Kafue much more accessible to visit. The Lusaka to/from Kafue flights will operate on twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. These dates are on request for Kafue including the Chunga and Busanga Plains airstrip.
